Thigh surgery improves the appearance of the thighs by reducing excess skin and sometimes also fat. It is appropriate for women with lower skin elasticity, usually due to aging. Plastic surgery of the thighs is focused particularly on the area of the inside part of thighs and upper thirds right under the crotch.
How is thigh surgery performed?
Plastic-aesthetic surgery of the thighs is performed under general anaesthesia and takes 2 – 3 hours. The incision is placed, based on previous measurements, around three quarters of the inner thigh diameter. The skin is detached, together with the subcutaneous tissue, from the underlying tissue and it is stretched upwards, its excess is removed. Suture of the wound and its bandage follow. The resulting scar is usually of T-shape. Sometimes fat is removed by liposuction during the surgery.
What to expect after thigh surgery?
After plastic surgery of the thigh, the patient wears elastic compression trousers for 3 weeks. The time of hospitalization at the clinic is determined by the surgeon, based on patient’s condition. It is usually 1-2 nights. Stitches are removed in the 3rd week after surgery.
Physical load is possible after 6 weeks from the plastic thigh surgery. The resulting scar gradually gets paler and the quality of scarring depends on patient’s individual wound healing capacity.
